I was a little scared to read this because forever had such a good ending. I thought it would start another adventure that would not compare to the first 3 books, but it definitely surprised me. I love being able to live the characters. Be put into their situations because it’s not like those dumb books that you can plan out the ending In a few seconds and, think way around a certain event. Each page is so detailed, how does she even come up with this stuff is my question! It’s like she is recording somebody else’s life! Sometimes I forget I’m reading because of the amazing reality it puts in your head.

Werewolves are so 2008, you say? Not when Maggie Stiefvater is penning the tale. She could make dirt fascinating. Her way with words is indulging and refreshing. It was nice revisiting old friends, and getting some closure for Cole and Isabel.

I was really hesitant to read this book, because I didn’t want to ruin the way this story had ended in “Forever”. I’m so so so glad I did though. Cole St. Clair became one of the most complex characters I’ve ever read, and Isabel went from a surface level side character (at least for me) to an incredibly developed human who I grew to love. I actually cried at the end, not because it was unreasonably sad or anything, but because Maggie created such a fitting, calming ending to Cole’s story. Maggie Stiefvater continues to amaze me with her multifaceted characters and unique, unexpected (but wholly satisfying) plot lines. One of my top 5 favorites, for sure.

This book made me so happy. I was beyond excited when Maggie had announced that Cole and Isabel were getting their own book. I can remember when the Shiver Trilogy ended and to me their story still felt unfinished. I am such a huge fan of Cole and Isabel, and let me say this book was a major delight. I loved it! Cole and Isabel's journey is not an easy one by all means. They have struggles and issues to face, but I also got see the inner strength they each didn't realize they had. They're not perfect. Both are guarded and hard edged, but their honest and real. My favorite thing besides the romance is the sarcasm these characters have. Oh, and there was plenty. "Wait-" Sam said. "Have you seen Isabel yet?" My fingers still felt the shape of her. "Da. We embraced. Angels sang, Sam. Those fat ones. Cherubs. Cherubim. I must go." ~ Cole and Sam The relationship between Cole and Isabel is both complicated and wonderful. Where Cole knew he wanted Isabel in his life, she at times was afraid to let that happen. It was frustrating and I felt bad for Cole, but with everything going on in Isabel's life, I understood her. They go through feelings of insecurities, vulnerability, and certain fears, but the love between them is undeniable. They bring out that hidden part of themselves with each other that no one else sees. They are truly great together. "Then we kissed the perfect kiss. The people in the studio went absolutely insane. I knew how to pull off the way just fine when I was just Cole St. Clair. But we did it better together." ~Cole There were new characters that were introduced, Leon, Jeremy, and Sophia, who were great additions to the story. I was very happy with ending for this couple. Cole and Isabel's journey really feels complete now.

Maggie Stievater once again stuns the world with her written masterpiece and has made me and most of the world fall for the broken Cole St. Clair and Isabel Culpepper. Go Maggie!
