Dare to Touch

As usual Carly Phillips writes a great romance and love story! Great characters with baggage of their own, one stubborn and dreamy man who really wants his woman! All the good feels and some frustration as well.

Olivia Dare has baggage. She also has the love of a really good man, Dylan, and the support of her family. All she needs is the courage to let go of the past and work through her issues, because the only thing in the way of Olivia’s happy-ever-after is Olivia. I annoyed reading her story.

I loved this story. Olivia & Dylan are characters the reader can appreciate & admire from cover to cover. Dylan shows the virtue of patience. Olivia demonstrates caution. Together they let me watch their trust & love grow. I am so glad I read it!

Well blended storyline.

Olivia Dare and Dylan Rhodes work for the Miami Thunder. There is definite chemistry but Olivia has issues. The biggest being her father. Growing up, always thinking your dad was away on business, only to find out he had a whole other family he was raising. A cheating ex-boyfriend also contributed to her issues. Dylan wants her and after being friends for a while, he's ready to make his move. He won't stop until she's his. Will Olivia let her past get in the way? Another magnificent book in the Dare to Love series. Olivia and Dylan are burning up the sheets! Dylan's sexiness is off the charts and he and Olivia are perfect for each other. I completely understand why she has her issues. Then we're blasted with Meg. She's a twist that I didn't expect. Looking at Olivia's past, is she really going to believe the "ex-girlfriend is my friend and it's purely platonic" excuse? That one's hard for any of us to accept. I love the entire Dare family and I can't wait to read more. Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Dare to Touch is Book 5 in the Dare to Love Series by Carly Phillips. In this story we return to members of the original Dare family, introduced in Book 1, Dare to Love. Olivia Dare, sister of Ian, is the executive director of the Miami Thunder football team. Dylan Rhoades, the team travel director, has feelings for Olivia and decides to act on them. After being hurt and disappointed by her father and a cheating ex-boyfriend, Olivia fears once again being hurt again. However, Dylan works to break through the barriers Olivia has put in place as the two embark on a hot and sexy relationship. There are also a couple of sub-stories that run throughout the book. We see Dylan and Olivia deal with immature football player Big, and his weasel of a cousin who is suppose to take care of him. Seems to me Big needs a love interest to take care of him, in a positive way. We also meet Dylan’s high school sweetheart, Meg, who depends on him as a big brother. Olivia’s brother Scott plays a small role and he too meets Meg. I’m sure there’s a story coming for those two. Then there’s Avery Dare, Olivia’s sister and roommate. Avery also has an ex-boyfriend who she meets up with again. However, we learn very little of that get together. Hopefully there’s a story for Avery coming soon. Lastly we are visited by all the characters from Books 1 through 4 in the Dare series. I loved the way Phillips showed the growth of the relationship between these two characters as well as how they learn to trust each other. I also appreciated Olivia’s realization that she was no longer the nineteen year old she once was, but had grown and could look at things in her life differently and more maturely. I highly recommend this book to all readers and I cannot wait for the next story in this series.

Dare to Touch by Carly Phillips had me rooting for Olivia and Dylan and their happily ever after from the outset. Dylan Rhodes has had his eye on co-worker Olivia Dare for some time, however she was reticent to give into the fact she wanted nothing more than to spend time with her sexy co-worker and get to know him better. Finally Dylan decides he is taking the necessary steps to go after what he wants -- and that would be a relationship with Olivia. As Olivia and Dylan begin to spend time together, they slowly reveal their pasts, both which include abandonment issues brought on by an absent parent during their childhood. Olivia also endured a devastating loss in her late teens that has shaped many of her beliefs about what she believes she wants in the future and threatens to derail the relationship she and Dylan are beginning to build. An almost tragedy with a close friend of Dylan's helps to put things in perspective for Olivia, causing her to take control of her life and overcome the fear she's been living with for years. In the end this story is about never giving up and doing whatever you have to in order to get to where you want to be whether in love or in life. Carly Phillips has once again written a heartfelt, honest, wonderful story. I enjoy the Dare family immensely and I can't wait to continue our journey with them as this series continues!

Just when I think there is no way Carly Phillips' can write a better book than the one before, I am proven wrong again. Dare to Touch is about Olivia Dare and Dylan Rhodes. Olivia is a strong, hardworking member of the Miami Thunder's Execute Team. She puts all her passion into her work. Unfortunately for Dylan, who is the team's Travel Director, he would like some of that passion to come his way. Dylan finally decides to take matters into his own hands at Olivia's birthday party. He pulls her into the hallway, gives her one of the best kisses she has ever had, gives her her present and walks away. Dylan knows he wants a relationship with Olivia but he can tell that she tends to shy away from relationships. He is determined to break through her guarded walls and get through to her. Olivia's back story just broke my heart. On more than one occasion I found myself tearing up. Dylan's childhood was different, yet the same. How these two wounded hearts could find each other just made their relationship stronger. I loved their journey to their happy ending. It was sweet, sexy and emotional. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Olivia's sister Avery and cannot wait for her story. She seems like a hoot! I am really enjoying all these crazy Dare family members.
