SAGUS Vol 5 looks at the life of Roy Thomas when he was in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. After training in England he served on HMS Urania on D-Day and then in the Pacific War against Japan. After the Japanese surrendered, his ship was stationed in Japanese waters for several months and he kept a large range of photographs and memorabilia from that time.
After leaving Japan, his ship discovered a new island in the Pacific and we are fortunate enough to have extensive material relating to this discovery and the naming of the island.
SAGUS is a publishing phenomenon as it is the biography of a family that stretches across the centuries and is expected to continue into the future. Each volume covers a different period or event but each one is different in its approach.
