Hunting For A Killer Who Doesn't Play By The Rules...

Detective Erin Donovan expects life to settle down after the arrest and conviction of a serial rapist who terrorized her college town last summer. Then two young women are brutally slain and the murders bear all the hallmarks of the campus rapist. Did Erin arrest the wrong man?

Her job is at stake and tensions are high. Just when it looks like things can't get worse, the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit sends a profiler to assist the investigation—in the form of a man Erin has never been able to forget.

Three years ago, former Marine scout sniper Darsh Singh’s feelings for Erin had him breaking all his rules. Now his only interest in the former NYPD detective is figuring out if she screwed up an investigation and helped send an innocent man to prison.

Being forced to work together rekindles their attraction, and as Darsh and Erin fall for each other, the predator fixates on the female detective hunting him. Can they identify the killer before he makes Erin his final victim?

All the books can be read as standalone titles. Hot romantic stories with thrilling plots and guaranteed happily ever afters—they do contain strong language. For fans of Melinda Leigh, Janie Crouch, Anna Hackett, and Brittney Sahin.

WINNER of the BOOK BUYERS BEST for Romantic Suspense. Finalist in the National Excellence in Romance Fiction Awards, and the Booksellers' Best Award for Romantic Suspense.

The characters were fantastic and the story was interesting and full of suspense. I was surprised with the conclusion. Not who I expected to be the bad guy. Great romance and suspense story.
  • Not her best

This book fell short compared to her others. You kind of automatically don’t like Erin much from the beginning. It was sort of boring. It’s annoying how the couples fall madly in love so fast.
  • Thumbs (mostly) up!

Love these books! The mystery, the suspense, real page turners for sure!! Absolutely hate the ‘love’ stories, which seem to be nearly identical in each book, blah. I’m pretty sure every FBI agent doesn’t fall madly in love just days into each case. The main storylines are good enough to keep me coming back & wanting more though.

I am a big fan of really well written romantic suspense and Toni Anderson is one of the best authors writing today in this genre. Her books always include intricately created suspense, strong women and heroes with well rounded characters accompanying their muscles. There is just the right amount of jeopardy, sizzle and humour and every aspect is meticulously researched. I can’t recommend Toni Anderson’s books highly enough if you enjoy romantic suspense and we beautiful written yarn.

Book six in this series and tied with the first (which was my favorite). This story has all the mystery, drama, romance and thrill, I have come to expect from this author. The narrator for the audiobook is Eric Dove, who does an outstanding job. A killer is stalking the campus, he is intelligent, cunning and dangerous, he is fixated on a police detective. Excellent read and listen. The audiobook and hard copy are equally entertaining. Add this to your listen list.

Amazing. Spent the entire afternoon reading. Once again, who done it? Not who I thought. Erin Donovan brought a rapist to trial last fall. The university town hates her because the rapist is their star quarterback. Then two girls are murdered. One raped, just like before. FBI agent Darsh Singh heads to upper NY to determine if the wrong man is in prison or is this a copy cat? Erin and Darsh met 3 years ago at Quantico - it was memorable but didn’t end well. They work on trying to unravel this mess. There are suspects all over the place. The chemistry is still there while they try to ignore it. The small task force is trying to figure this out while Darsh tries for a profile while verifying Erin did her job leading up to the sentencing. Her relationship w Rachel is touching. I admit to a few tears in the end, the victim, the accused, the bully. This book is mostly Darsh and Erin. A little Jed, a tad of Mallory and new comer Ashley Chen.
