Description

Rand Bishop’s dreams of Olympic gold were shattered years ago but he’s left that all behind, settling into a new career and lifestyle that would make any man jealous. While he may not be competitively racing down the ski slopes anymore, he’s just as happy getting his rocks off as a Fantasy Maker for The Silo.

He’s good at what he does.
Damn good.

But while life couldn’t be better for Rand, it seems to be falling apart for Catherine Lyons Vaughn, the dark haired, brown-eyed beauty that has captivated an entire sex club.

Having spent years degrading herself on her husband’s whim and now left destitute after his death, Catherine has hit rock bottom. With nothing but her body to peddle, Catherine is merely trying to figure out how to survive in a harsh, cruel world. Lucky for her, Rand has taken her under his tattooed wing, and he’s determined to give her a safe life where she can be the woman she was always meant to be.

Now all Catherine has to do is believe she deserves the chance.

  • Love the series; not a fan of man-man sex

I don’t consider myself a prude and try to be open minded, but the Logan-Rand sex was hard for me to wrap my head around. Typically the sex scenes leave me horny and wet. I had to skim over Rand/Logan. Just not my taste I guess. Otherwise, great storyline.

Don’t ever judge a book by its cover. However, that’s what most people would do when observing Catherine Lyons Vaughn. Beautiful. Privileged. Kept. But do we ever give a thought to why someone chooses the life they lead. Most likely not. “I can almost see her identity disappearing right before my eyes." If you read any of the previous installments, you’ve been introduced to this character. From the outside, that’s all she seems. Vapid, young lady who is the sexual plaything of an older man. From the start of this story, Cat finds herself cast outside with no resources. What does she need? A white knight. Enter Rand Bishop. Not since Wyatt Banks from With a Twist (Last Call #4) has Sawyer Bennett wrote a character guaranteed to get your panties in a knot just anxious to be saved. “I think I’d remember something like this…so possessive and animalistic. Necessary. That’s what it feels like..absolutely needful to him.” Okay, we interrupt this insightful review for a fangirl moment: HOLY HELL SAWYER BENNETT CAN YOUR WRITING NOT GET ANY HOTTER? Now that’s out of the way. Cat and Rand are the perfect friends to more story you can easily get lost in. Both characters appear genuine and someone you can see yourself being friends with. Their love story isn’t one of control or who has the upper hand in the relationship. Each one wants the best possible outcome for the issues laid out before them because they honestly like each other first. Not saying that friends to lovers is the only thing this novel is about. Ms. Bennett brings us back to the Silo and all the awesome I-read-it-but-don’t-admit-it scenes that every erotic romance lover dreams. If you are familiar with the series, you get time with characters you fell in love with and time to learn more about those who we haven’t got to know as well…sigh Bridger. Again, Sawyer Bennett provides the reader with a highly entertaining read. This series continues to get better and hotter. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the others. Her story writing always provides enough to give the new reader a standalone. But after you’ve read this you’ll want to one click the rest. All others who are familiar with her work, she does not disappoint.
  • I think every woman needs a man like Rand Bishop in their lives.

I think every woman needs a man like Rand Bishop in their lives. Rand works part-time at The Silo helping to deliver fantasies. He is a retired professional skier and leads a very laid back life. Catherine "Cat" Vaughn has been a member for a while and would normally come in with her much older, very rich husband while he just watched her play. Now that Cat's husband is dead, Rand finds out that she has been left with nothing, and no place to live. Since Rand has always felt a connection to Cat, he decides to help her out and offers up his place for her to crash until she can get on her feet again. As Rand and Cat spend more time together they realize that many things that they thought were true about each other, were in reality, not true. Cat had a very bad childhood and has always thought very poorly of herself. Rand realizes what a great person she truly is and things quickly develop between the two of them. What chemistry these two have...HOT! Like off the charts hot! I loved how this laid back guy quickly turns into a one-woman man! I enjoyed how all of our favorites were back helping Cat with problems from her past. And then there's Bridger! Every book in this series makes you fall in love with him even more. Overall this book was a great story, with great characters. Great addition to this series!

Wicked Need is the third book in the The Wicked Horse series but can be read as a standalone. I have not read the first two books, only the book descriptions for all three. Since I started out with book 3, I only got a small glimpse into the wicked things Cat and Rand did at the Silo in the first two books and I was surprised with how little the famous Silo was in this book. This story starts off with Cat's dire circumstance and Rand immediately comes to her rescue and blooms into a very sweet relationship. Rand was sweet, caring and not the total playboy I was expecting to find. Cat, despite everything she went through with her deceased husband was also a very likeable character. She was down to earth, humble and very sweet. There is very minimal ow drama and one ménage scene and honestly, I was expecting more just from the book descriptions. I don't think that is a bad or a good thing, just that my impressions were a little off in what I expected in this story. I very much enjoyed book 3 and I will definately be going back and reading book 1 and 2. ARC received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
