Description

HEARTS COLLIDE when a feisty city girl crashes into Steve "Grizz" Johnson's rural mountain retreat. The Bradens are a series of stand-alone romances that may also be enjoyed as part of the larger Love in Bloom series.

In CRUSHING ON LOVE...
Steve Johnson is living his life’s passion watching over the Colorado Mountains as a ranger and wildlife consultant. But his peaceful life is upended when overzealous and insanely beautiful Shannon Braden flits back into his life after returning from a brief trip home to Maryland. He thought his attraction to her was under control—after all, she’s only in Colorado temporarily, and he doesn’t do casual affairs.

Shannon’s return to Colorado has as much to do with the game of cat and mouse she and Steve have been playing as it does the data she’s been hired to collect. But despite her efforts to explore the undeniable heat simmering between them, Steve’s intent on keeping his distance.

When a ranch abutting the national park goes up for sale, Steve will do whatever it takes to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. And when all his attempts fail, he’s left with no alternative but to follow Shannon’s guidance into the online world he abhors in order to raise the funds. The more time they spend together, the deeper their attraction becomes, and a game of cat and mouse turns into an unstoppable connection. But when Shannon’s assignment comes to an end, will it mean an end to them, too?

What a fun couple. These two fight the obvious connection because they are both stubborn. They have to find a few things out about themselves and decide if it is worth the trouble before they get their HEA. The narrator has definitely grown on me. Great listen.
  • Shannon and Steve have super hot chemistry!!

I loved Crushing on Love. Shannon Braden is a strong heroine. She knows what she wants and goes after it. And what she wants is the handsome wildlife ranger, Steve Johnson. Steve doesn’t want change. He likes his quiet, reclusive life in the Colorado mountains. But his attraction to Shannon and their super hot chemistry definitely proves too much for him to resist. Crushing on Love is book four in The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor series. There are interconnecting characters but all the stories are complete standalones. I’ve been listening to these stories on audiobook and I really enjoy the wonderful narration. -4 Stars!-
  • Another Awesome Audiobook

What do you say about a book written by the fabulous Melissa Foster better yet one that is read to you by B.J. Harrison, simply not enough words to express how GREAT the book is or the narrator! I loved Steve and Shannon’s story when I first read it, but then to have it B.J. Harrison read it, well that made it 10 times better. My only issue is I like when the characters are read by Male/Female, but it doesn’t take away from this one. Still a fabtastic book, both paper and audio. Thank you so much for putting this one on Audible. Makes my ride to and from work so much better. It’s great to get lost in someone else’s world. This book simply perfect in my eyes and ears. So go get and enjoy.
  • Mountain Man meets City Girl.. and sparks fly

Can a mountain man who loves his privacy and a people loving city girl find happiness together? Melissa Foster’s newest book seeks to answer that question. Steve Johnson is a mountain man through and through. He knows the woods forwards and backwards and loves his solitary life. Shannon Braden is a city girl who is spending time in the woods collecting data for a study that she is participating in. They had met at a wedding a few months prior and there was a definite mutual attraction. Steve is thrown for a loop when Shannon bursts into his quiet little world. She is spunky, sassy and, oh so sexy. His nickname for her is Butterfly as she flits from thing to thing and from place to place. Shannon is drawn to Steve’s burly mountain man exterior and also to his tender heart underneath it all. Can “Grizzly” and “Butterfly” find a way to compromise between their obvious opposite lifestyles? You will have to read the book to find out! There is a great balance in this book between times of angst and times of sexy fun. The characters are well-developed and you will find yourself laughing at times (watch for Happy Packs and Shmores!) I enjoyed this book and maybe it is true that opposites attract? B J Harrison is a wonderful narrator with an easy to listen to voice. I have read the print version of the book as well and would highly recommend either version of this book.
  • Loved it more in audio!

Loved it.. Yes! I don't know if a sexier mountain man exists then Steve or as Shannon calls him, Grizz! Shannon, Butterfly to Steve, is a researcher who takes a position researching wolves in Colorado near her uncle and Steve, the mountain man that she wants to be more. Steve is a man that not only lives on the mountain, it is who he is but is he willing to change for the city girl that may have stolen his heart? Shannon and Steve navigate their different lives and find one that might just involve each other. Steve is the ultimate mountain man - he saves wild Hawks, creates detailed maps for Shannon and learns a little about the art of romance and compromise for his Shannon. Shannon is a people person with a love of Pop Tarts and pink boot laces. Together they don't appear to work but they find out how love crushes all of those obstacles and lands a mountain man chilling on the beaches of Maryland and Butterfly living on a mountain in Colorado. You won't be disappointed.

Melissa Foster... seriously?! You cannot write a bad book! Steve and Shannon are two of my newest favorites in all of her books thus far. Their relationship starts out complicated. With the pressure of distance and the knowledge that Shannon will be moving back to Peaceful Harbor once her research is complete. Steve has been attracted to her from the beginning, but knows that getting involved with her is risky- risky to both of their hearts. Once they both give in, it is hot hot hot! This book was scorching and had me hooked from the start. Shannon was extremely relatable and I loved connecting with her on a more personal level while reading. Love visiting Weston! Cannot wait to read the next in the series. Melissa is fantastic! I also had the opportunity to listen to the audio book and I LOVED it! It is always so fun to get another side of the book you loved so much. The narrator, as always was awesome!
  • heart and humor as well as steam

Steve and Shannon are the perfect match and I loved seeing them fall in love! Their pet names are too cute and fit their personalities perfectly. There is a lot of heart and humor as well as steam. As a matter of fact, I think this may be the hottest of the Love in Bloom series. Steve is one of the most sensitive and sweet heroes while still being hot and sexy. Can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

Ok, I know we say the Braden men are hot, but Steve was HOT! He was masculine, sexy, outdoorsy and last but not least, had a way with words. He had swooning......😜. Shannon wad absolutely adorable and moving and talking about a hundred miles a minute, lol😂. Together they were everything. I loved this story, it was surprisingly funny. As usual, the Braden's were stand up people. Yay....👍
  • Beautiful! Crushing on Love

Loved this series but I think this is my favorite! The peaceful life of Steve, a ranger in the Colorado Mountains, is instantly interrupted by Shannon. A recent encounter at a wedding, had both people had lingering memories of each other. Shannon is there temporarily and their simmering heat is combustible with each look. Steve's attempt to keep his distance soon can not stop the unstoppable connection. Their nicknames, add to the steamy story. When Shannon's assignment ends, she has to decide where "home" really is. This is not a book that you can stop reading or put down. Once again, Melissa Foster has a 5 star book!
  • Amazing characters!!!

Steve is TOTALLY AMAZING! Sexy, gorgeous, built like a Mack truck and cares deeply about conservation. Shannon is quirky, smart and is crazy about Steve. Their relationship is enviable and seems like they've been together forever. Reading their story had me happy, sad, holding my breath and feeling the crazy love between them. He's so sincere with a dark sexy side that is delicious! These two take intimacy to a whole new level. Great writing Melissa Foster! I don't know how she keeps coming up with these amazing characters but keep it up because I'm a very satisfied reader. I also love how these series are connected. Received a copy via RickStarLit in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.
