Enjoyable read. Liked book 1 better. I did buy book #3 as it seems like it will be a pretty good book.

I thought the 1st 1/2 of this book was good. It was interesting learning about all of the love traditions and words Evan had mention. I liked Evan had a internal flaw. There aren't too many books I've read that have that. But again I think I started to fall out of love with the 2 main characters, but I do think this was a lot better than book 1.

This book delivered all the emotional ups and downs that kept me captivated to know more. Evan and Hannah are an excellent couple together. They are the perfect match to help each other emerge from their own insecurities. Evan is the brother with the heart condition which has kept him in his brother’s shadows. He has worked hard to prove himself and show he can handle what life throws at him but no matter what he does, this cloud follows him. He finally is given the responsibility he’s always wanted at Sugar Rush but another hurdle is placed in his way. Hannah has built a successful travel blog, she has spent years roaming the earth, I think trying to figure out who she really is as she ran from her hometown. When her sister Polly needs to follow her dream to Paris, she agrees to come home and run the family bakery. I enjoyed seeing Hannah find joy in something she always felt wasn’t her area, Polly and their Mom had a different bond which made Hannah feel like the outsider but she finds her place at the bakery. Evan has been captivated by Hannah from the first moment he met her, loving her carefree and adventurous spirit. This is a refreshing romance as a slow burn starts between the two of them. It surprised me how much they did have in common with their own fears and insecurities. Their journey is full of fabulously fun moments as they push each other out of their comfort zones. I have to say that Evan is my favorite Stone brother.

Heir to the Sugar Rush Candy Company, Evan Stone was a sexy bad boy with a perpetual sweet tooth! A smooth talker, with a charming personality, I wasn't expecting the pastry history or the linguistics lessons, but they added a depth to his character that made him pretty darn appealing! Hannah Lockhart, a traveling blogger and photographer, was a bold yet vulnerable character. Stuck taking care of her sister's bakery for 6 months, Hannah chafes at the restrictions placed on her nomadic lifestyle, but a promise made is a promise...Hannah is trying to keep. She could be frustratingly selfish, but as she revealed herself in bits and pieces...well, I grew to like her more than I thought I would. Evan and Hannah's relationship was meant to be casual-flirty conversations and hot sex- but it eventually developed into something deeper. Both were looking for a physical escape from their lives, not realizing they didn't have to go to the ends of the world to find what they were looking for. Their journey was a mash up of crazy, sexy fun, with pockets of vulnerabilities exposing themselves when I least expected, but it made the read so worthwhile! Sweet Escape turned out to be a surprisingly emotional read! The story was still flirty and fun, but I felt Evan and Hannah had more "oomph" to their chemistry and more depth to their relationship than Polly and Luke from Sweet Dreams. And the amusing distractions the secondary cast gave-zippy lines, sarcastic wit, and droll humor-the Stone family and bakery regulars hit the spot every time! Book 2 in the Sugar Rush series, Sweet Escape lived up to its title! I would recommend reading Sweet Dreams first, however, to fully appreciate the plethora of dynamics in the series! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received at no cost from the author. Julie-Alphas Do It Better Book Blog

Sweet Escape is book two in Nina Lane’s Sugar Rush series, a series that has quickly found its way to the top of my TBR. The Stone brothers are heirs to the billion-dollar Sugar Rush Candy Company. There are six, count them, SIX sexy brothers. That gives us six potentially hot and, uh-hem, sweet stories to look forward to. Sweet Escape is Evan’s story. Evan Stone has had his eyes on Hannah since she first arrived to town a few months ago. Their attraction is definitely mutual, and it’s also safe. After all, Hannah is only staying in Rainsville to run Wild Child Bakery for her sister, Polly, long enough for Polly to travel to Paris where she’s taking pastry-making courses and doing an internship with a famous patisserie. That suits Evan just fine, since temporary is the only thing he has to offer. Even if he wanted to, Evan’s heart won’t let him consider more, and that works for Hannah. As it is, she’s not sure how much longer she can suppress the wanderlust spirit that took her away from Rainsville years ago. For now, her commitment to her sister is the only thing keeping her put, but love has a funny way of changing our plans. Sometimes we find out that the thing we thought we would never have (or maybe even wanted) is the one thing we can’t live without. Sweet Escape is a delicious balance of the sweet and savory (and even a little of the bitter) that life gives us. Evan and Hannah’s attraction makes for some spicy moments, but it’s the tender ones, the getting-to-know-you ones, and the let-me-take-care-of-you ones that touched me most. It’s been a while since a couple touched me this tenderly (and sweetly).
