Her Enemy Protector by Avery Flynn is an enemies to lovers story. Lucas Bendtsen is a by the book secret agent who will do anything to keep his country, and queen, safe. It doesn’t matter what he has to do to stop a notorious mobster from selling guns to a group of terrorists. By posing as the fiancé of the mobster’s stepdaughter, Lucas can gain access to the guarded compound and hopefully discover the location and time of the arms deal. Ruby Macintosh is not the femme fatale her reputation has led people to believe. She knows double-crossing the Organization is a fool’s errand which could lead to her death. Ruby is hopeful that placing her life in Lucas’ hands she will be able to save her brother and mother from her stepfather. The major problem is that Lucas turns her on almost as much as he angers her. A fake engagement might be a way to distract everyone, but there is definite chemistry between these Lucas and Ruby. With their hearts getting involved Lucas needs to decide whether to break the rules or break Ruby’s heart. I highly recommend this book to all readers as I truly enjoyed this book and had trouble putting it down. Ms. Flynn was able to keep this reader fascinated with wanting to see if Ruby and Lucas could find a way to make their relationship work and find their happy ever after with each other. All of the characters were well written, authentic and complex. This is the first book I read by Ms. Flynn and I know I will be reading more stories written by her. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Great story!! Lucas, the head of the Silver Knights, a security force that answers to the Queen & King of the fictional country of Elskov, needs to stop an illegal weapons sale by the worst crime boss in Europe. Ruby, the crime bosses step daughter is trying to get as far away from her criminal step-father as possible.. Needless to say, thing happen and they wind up working together against the man that is dangerous to both of them. This story was exciting with lots of twists, turns and surprises. It's also very steamy!! If your a reader who enjoys a well written story that has intrigue, secrets and steam, this is the book for you!!

I found this one a bit odd. It was entertaining enough but nothing I could really relate to and I never felt that connection to the characters I enjoy when reading. The setting is an obscure little fictional country. There are mobsters, terrorists, secret agents, and oh yeah, a fake engagement. It was all just a bit too much and seemed rushed in a lot of places.

Ruby was blackmailed into helping Luke save elskov from an arms deal. Luke was the leader of black nights, whom you met in the first book (each is a standalone) his under cover princess, Ruby is the step daughter of a crime boss and the black knights decide to use her. There is a lot of chemistry, which of course Luke and Ruby try to fight, intrigue, capers and suspense in this story. Avery Flynn keeps you guessing and wanting more. This was another great read . Cannot wait for the next book in this serious.
