    A Scandalous Portrait This is the first in Callie Hutton’s new series Rose Room Rogues. Our hero is Hunt an earl and the oldest of 3 brothers who own and run the Rose Room club but also conduct work for the crown when needed. Our heroine is Lady Diana childhood friend and thorn in Hunt’s side, all her life he has saved her from one disaster or another. Just returned from a year in Italy to escape a scandal she finds herself in trouble again, Diana asks Hunt for help and as expected mayhem ensues. Our couple find themselves embroiled in a plot against the crown while trying to save Diana’s reputation from yet more scandal. Throughout the story we discover that the once childhoods friends feelings toward one another have changed. When discovered together and forced into marriage they must fight to prove they are meant to be together. Of course true love wins, a great story with lots of twists and turns to keep you entertained. I looked forward to the rest of the series having enjoyed this one as much as I did.

In her latest worry, she needs him to retrieve a rather embarrassing (scandalous, that is) portrait. With a roll of the eyes and a good look at the portrait, a new chapter in their friendship begins. This the first story in the Rose Room Rogues series. The Rose Room is a high-class gambling establishment owned by the three Rose brothers, Hunt, Driscoll, and Dante. The three of them also do sensitive assignments for the Crown, but that’s a secret. Lady Diana is a free-spirited lady who has a knack for getting into trouble. Hunt and Diana have an interesting path to happily ever after. The story has twists, turns, and surprises. There is a crooked artist, a murder (of said artist), a house party, traitors, and a new attraction hanging on the wall at the Rose Room. Diana is independent and outspoken. Hunt is serious and protective. I like them both. Driscoll and Dante are good businessmen. They bring humor to the story. A good story and great characters. I recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
