Description

#1 New York Times bestselling author Laurell K. Hamilton offers a sexy, suspenseful novel of human—and inhuman—passions, as vampire hunter Anita Blake must repay a favor to a man almost as dangerous as the ancient evil she's about to face...

Edward is a hit man, specializing in monsters, vampires, shapeshifters, anything and everything. There are people like Anita who do it legal, but Edward doesn't sweat the legalities, or, hell, the ethics. He's an equal opportunity killer.

Anita may be one of the few friends that Edward has, but it’s like being friends with a tame leopard. It may curl up on the foot of your bed and let you pet its head, but it can still eat your throat out...

I love all the Anita Blake series and have them in print but wanted them more portable so bought digital copies of them all. This particular book has serious problems in digital format which need corrected. Several chapters are missing the last page or two worth of text and end mid sentence and then the next chapter begins. Please fix this!! It is extremely frustrating!!!

Best of the series I've read so far. We see a lot of Edward and he is the best at what he does. What he does isn't very nice

He is by far one of my favorite characters which makes this book a favorite of mine. It's true that there isn't a lot of romance but you get to see a lot of development in Anita and Edward's friendship as well as a lot of development Anita as a person and a cop. This is one of the more interesting books in the series. Great read!!
  • Gruesome minus romance

This book was not as good because it really left out the romance. It focused on gruesome blood and negative abuse. If you don't like children being sexually abused I would avoid this book. I give it an a for creativity but it lacked relationships and love.

Great book with lots of action, however not enough romance but a great read nonetheless! Beware of lots of blood and guts :)
