Description

“Utterly engaging...a page-turner that is certain to win the author legions of new readers and fans.”—George R. R. Martin, author of A Game of Thrones

It's spring on Nantucket and everything is perfectly normal, until a sudden storm blankets the entire island. When the weather clears, the island's inhabitants find that they are no longer in the late twentieth century...but have been transported instead to the Bronze Age! Now they must learn to survive with suspicious, warlike peoples they can barely understand and deal with impending disaster, in the shape of a would-be conqueror from their own time.

Would have been a great read if it wasn't full of political correctness
  • Great Idea spoiled by inept writing

Very good book setup and concept of modern people being transported into the bronze age but it is undone by poor writing style, transparent plot, bad dialogue and empty characters. So much wasted potential.

Wonderful concepts in this 3 book series, with none of that Wiccan crap that ruins the emberverse series, to the point of unreadability.

Wonderful "prequel" to the emberverse series! Highly recommended!

After reading this fantastic story I have to say I'm really displeased with the quality of the translation from printed book to digital e-book from apple or the publisher. There are over sixty misspellings in this book that are obviously caused by poor proofreading. There are many dangling orphaned periods and other punctuation, as well as collapsed ligatures that should have been caught by a proofreader at the very least. If this is the quality if service we should expect on the bookstore I don't think I'll be buying many more books from Apple. The other book in this series "the sunrise lands" was completely mangled and unreadable. Every misspelling or error made the money I'd spent feel less worthwhile.
