Description

The #1 bestselling author Iris Johansen delivers the first in a trilogy that will begin to answer questions that have haunted her legion of fans for over a decade, in her next novel of breathtaking suspense

Eve Duncan's mission in life is to bring closure to the families who have experienced the agony of a missing child. As a forensic sculptor, she is able to piece together bones, create a face, and bring an identity to a child who would have otherwise gone unidentified…maybe forever. Eve is brilliant, and driven, and tormented--because her own daughter, Bonnie, was taken from her years ago. And Eve has never discovered what happened to her. But now a name from the past resurfaces, thanks to CIA agent Catherine Ling who knows all too well what it's like to lose a child.

After teaming up with Agent Ling to find her missing son, Eve and Catherine share a bond forged by their mutual pain. Now, Catherine challenges Eve with a name: John Gallo. A man from Eve's past. A man, seemingly raised from the dead, whose whereabouts are unknown. Could Gallo be the missing piece to the puzzle that has haunted Eve for years? Why was he in Atlanta just before Bonnie's disappearance? With a brilliant narrative that goes back to Eve Duncan's early life, exploring her history and motivations like no other novel before, Eve reveals long-guarded secrets and is guaranteed to leave Johansen fans panting for more.

I don't know if I have ever said this about Iris Johansen but she is my absolute without a doubt favorite author. I strive to be write in the same fashion as her. The book brought fear, compassion, love, devotion and more as I read it. I couldn't imagine never reading these books and never getting to be merged into Eve Duncan's world. This was a great book with a hell of an ending. On the next book.

I've been a fan of all the books with EVe Duncan and this is the best. I read all three books in three days. An excellent job of telling the story of "Bonnie". Read this one and immediately read "Quinn" the "Bonnie" you won't be able to stop reading!

Holy crap... I couldn't put this down! Thank God I was immediately able to download Quinn! Now I have to wait TWO MONTHS for Bonnie!!!!! Aaaagggghhhh!!! I am not capable of patience where either Eve Duncan or Harry Potter are concerned! I really hope Bonnie wraps up the trilogy as strongly as Eve began it. Unfortunately only time will tell. But I guarantee I won't be able to wait for the paperback! Enjoy!!!!

This book would have been so much better if the reader had been better! The accents were awful and unreal. Catherine, an Asian American with a British accent, really? And when she was taking on the character of Eve every sentence sounded like it had an exclamation point behind it. Sometimes books can be incredibly good and well written but getting past the "presenter" is so difficult that you aren't sure if the book is good or not. Every time I began reading "listening" again I just wanted to cry. Now I have Quinn and it's the SAME reader!! Ugh! If Bonnie is read by the same woman, I will not purchase it, I wouldn't have purchased Quinn but I bought them together.
