Description

Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper's destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of an ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts. Just when life can't get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she's charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper's least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him--and discovers that David's own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.

With snappy banter, cotillion dresses, non-stop action and a touch of magic, this new young adult series from bestseller Rachel Hawkins is going to make y'all beg for more.

While the writing leaves a little to be desired, and some plot holes (hopefully to be filled in later novels), this book is punchy, fast paced, and engaging. Harper is relatable and likeable, as are most of the other characters. Blew through it in under 24 hours and can't wait for the next one

I loved this book. I read it in a single night<3. I loved the sarcasm and it was hilarious. Everyone is funny in this. Bee, Harper, David, and even Ryan. The love triangle is intense and there's a lot of sexual tension between Harper and David. I loved every part of this book! Harper's excuses are hilarious and David's aren't much better. I seriously love her writing style, it's always entertaining and always awesome. If you haven't read this book or the Hex Hall books (have you been living under a rock) you need to get on top of that because they are completely worth your time. 100% amazing. A must read book. Can't wait for the next one!
