This is the prequel to Ringo's Kildar series. Unlike other James Bond-type special agents, Ringo's hero has a habit of regularly getting shot to pieces, requiring some lengthy periods of recuperation (which mostly, thankfully, take place between stories), but soon he's right back into his uncanny habit of just wandering around coincidentally running into and endless series of world-threatening shoot-em-up situations and gorgeous women.

The paladin of shadows series features a main character at is such a mountain of a man that he destroys all who oppose him. He is very much the man in the bedroom too. Very few slow spots in any of these books. High suspense mixed with a very interesting plot and plenty of steamy sex scenes. I will be reading it again!
