Description

A man presumed dead is suddenly wanted for murder in this thriller of secrets, lies, and dangerous conspiracies that threaten to cover up the truth.

Three years ago, sports agent Myron Bolitar gave a eulogy at the funeral of his client, renowned basketball coach Greg Downing. Myron and Greg had history: initially as deeply personal rivals, and later as unexpected business associates. Myron made peace and moved on – until now, when two federal agents walked into his office, demanding to know where Greg Downing is.

According to the agents, Greg is still alive—and has been placed at the scene of a double homicide, making him their main suspect. Shocked, Myron needs answers.

Myron and Win, longtime friends and colleagues, set out to find the truth, but the more they discover about Greg, the more dangerous their world becomes. Secrets, lies, and a murderous conspiracy that stretches back into the past churn at the heart of Harlan Coben's blistering new novel.

All the characters are extremely shallow. Nothing to engage your interest unless you crave extravagant settings. Can’t figure out why anyone would want to finish this book . I didn’t. Can I get my money back?

Had a really high hopes for this book after reading all of the positive reviews but I never felt engrossed in it and it took me forever to finish because of it. Too many people, too many things happening at once that some of are not necessary, only plot twist is at the verrrry end, not many "page turner" moments. Mediocre at best and not Cobens typical style of writing.

Complex. Entertaining. A twist at every turn.
  • Too much irrelevance

Too. much Irrelevant narrative. Too many irrelevant characters. The book could have been written in less than 100 pages.

5 Stars. Vintage Coben. Vintage Bolitar. Tough Story. Coben, Myron, Win and Company have never even come close to disappointing us, the Constant Readers. This was a great book. As good a book as I have ever read. It also leaves too many questions. I hope Coben answers them sooner than later. Just fantastic. I can’t wait for the next one!!! On a serious side note, Coben is turning books into Netflix series like nobody’s business. I really hope that The Myron Books are in the works SET IN NEW JERSEY AND NEW YORK please and thank you very much. Please Mr. Coben!

Coben is a great author but this is book was terrible. He puts a ton of words on a page that makes little sense. There are so many characters and skipping around you can’t follow the story. I was bored so many times I was forced to finish so I could write this review..
