Description

“The alpha author of paranormal romance” (Booklist) draws us back into her extraordinary Psy-Changeling world, a world torn between violence and peace, passion and ice...

Assassin. Soldier. Arrow. That is who Vasic is, who he will always be. His soul drenched in blood, his conscience heavy with the weight of all he’s done, he exists in the shadows, far from the hope his people can almost touch—if only they do not first drown in the murderous insanity of a lethal contagion. To stop the wave of death, Vasic must complete the simplest and most difficult mission of his life.

For if the Psy race is to survive, the empaths must wake…

Having rebuilt her life after medical “treatment” that violated her mind and sought to suffocate her abilities, Ivy should have run from the black-clad Arrow with eyes of winter frost. But Ivy Jane has never done what she should. Now, she’ll fight for her people, and for this Arrow who stands as her living shield, yet believes he is beyond redemption. But as the world turns to screaming crimson, even Ivy’s fierce will may not be enough to save Vasic from the cold darkness…

Let me start by saying that that I very rarely write reviews, but I just felt compelled to say something this time. I have been faithfully following this series from the beginning and let me tell ya, it just keeps getting better. I have enjoyed this series immensely, but It's almost impossible to express in words how amazing and poignant this story is. It is definitely a must read again. As usual, I'll be anxiously awaiting the next installment. Aden or Silver ?? Maybe both... Uhmm that would be intriguing ... Nalini, whatever happens, don't you dare stop writing!

I was a little skeptical after some of the reviews about this book. It's a very good book. I know quite a few people were disappointed based on the book about Kaleb, but what they forgot was the characters in this book didn't know each other at all. Both main characters were extremely repressed. The set up was good and I honestly thought the main character might've died towards the end. He made it. Will definitely read this again.
  • Interesting pivot to new story arc

This installment was a significant pivot towards the development of stories/relationships for the arrows. The strength of the female character is well presented. It will be interesting to see where Singh takes us next. Enjoyed the scenes with characters from prior books, especially Judd and Kaleb, and while this book was enjoyable the relationship lacked the intensity found in Caress of Ice, Kiss of Snow, and Heart of Obsidian which precedes it.

Oh my where oh where do I begin!!!! This book was INCREDIBLE!!!! Forget 5 stars I'd give it a 6 off the charts!! Let me start with just a little overview, you pretty much get the synopsis from the up above blurb. Ivy is an E who has been mentally tortured. Vasic is an Arrow (assassin) who has so much angst that is buried deep down, he's so full of guilt from the killings that he's been assigned in the past to do. He has been assigned Ivy to protect and protect her he does!!! As an "infection" is spreading and killing, Ivy and others are asked to try and somehow stop it. So now let's talk about these two; Ivy and Vasic....oh how I loved each as hero and heroine. They where so incredible!! They had layers to their great character. Vasic, so strong and protective. But appearing cold. Yet buried deep he has such strong feelings and emotions. Loyal to his fellow Arrow "brothers". But when he slowly opens up to Ivy, oh my the love that unfolds is beautiful to behold. Ivy, I loved her. Strong, determined, sweet, faithful and stubborn. How she melted her heroes heart with tender, patient and determined love. She NEVER gave up on him and was his anchor! She loved and saw the good in the wounded Arrow and his "brothers". These two really melted my heart. To watch their sweet, deep, innocence (I LOVED that they both where virgins!!) and hot (talk about chemistry and slow burn) romance bloom was beautiful. One of my favorite couples along side Kaleb and Sahara from Heart of Obsidian!!! I really enjoyed the second characters as well. And we get to revisit some of the hero and heroines from past books (Kaleb and Sahara) too. And Rabbit, that one was too special and sweet dog!!!! I was pulled into the story from the first page and never wanted to put it down. Great plot and pacing!!! It grabbed my emotions from the beginning and never let go. Had me happy, laughing at times and at others so sad and broken hearted that I was bawling. That is a GREAT BOOK fellow romance readers. Oh and the ending was beautiful and pure magic!! I am still on a book high days later!! So as you can see this is a MUST READ. On my keeper/reread shelf. I am looking forward to Aden's story!!
