That's a story I'm curious to read...... Makes the whole KGI series actually seem more about them... Like they where in the background but yet they popped out fully throughout the series. That's like a teaser..."now you see them, now you don't" any time their story will be coming out soon?

This is a great addition to the KGI series. Maya Banks does not disappoint with this one. You don't need to read the other editions of the series to enjoy this book. However, the other characters are part of this story and would give you a greater reading experience. This book is about friendship, family and true love surrounded by drama, suspense and heartache. Joe Kelly, a team leader at KGI falls for Zoe, his sister Rusty's friend from college. He is the tough action hero while she is shy, uncomfortable and uncertain of her place in the world. Joe's protective instincts are on alert as he senses Zoe is hiding from something or someone. As he tries to figure it out they become very close but, before Zoe can tell Joe what she's hiding, she's kidnapped without an obvious trace. The secondary plot regarding Rusty's affections for Sean, the County Sheriff is also just as compelling as Joe and Zoe's story. It leaves you desperately wanting more. Recommend!

I can't believe I waited this long for nothing. KGI had been my favorite series by any author until now... one rotten apple spoils the whole barrel. I get the sense that Ms. Banks had to throw this one together to meet a deadline and put in very little effort. The story is flat and lacks imagination. The only thing that could save this book would be a complete rewrite.

I hate to write negative reviews so this is rare for me. The few parts of this book that were about the main characters were okay-at least it started okay. After the heroine was rescued there was no explanation of what happened to the bad guys nor did it resolve anything about her mysterious background. The book was very repetitive- huge rehashes of past books included to fill pages. There was a lot of the same going on in the characters thoughts. They just argued with themselves about the same thing over and over. This particular heroine was very forgettable compared to others in the series. And so was the instalove with Joe. It didn't have enough meat to it. I worry about Rusty and Sean's book.

I am a fan of this series and this author, but this book was very disappointing. Nothing interesting happened until half way through the book. The common instantaneous falling in love plot was particularly hard to believe in this story. Joe deserved a better story and I know Ms. Banks can write write a better one too.
