You can't go wrong with a KA novel. I've read all of her books and no one tells a story like her. This is no different, brilliant from beginning to end.

All I can say is WOW. They are such a hot couple from beginning to end. It is a tad bit crazy how Frankie seems to get in so much trouble. Benny is so refreshing to read about a man who from the beginning know he wants a woman and goes about securing happiness for the both of them.
  • Awesome yet again!

I love Kristen Ashley so much, I pre-order her books. "The Promise" was the latest...but not the best. I appreciated Benny's tender and silent alpha-ness, really, I did...but would it have hurt the story if maybe he kicked one or two bad guy butts (like Layne in "Golden Trail" or Colt in "For You")? Frankie was much in the same boat. She seemed to be missing the secret ingredient that made KA's female protagonists so friggin' lovable - their sweet bad-a**ness (like Nina in "The Gamble" and Rocky in "Golden Trail"). Sigh. Please don't let this be a shift towards a kinder, gentler writing! :-)

I love KA. I waited so long ... Anticipating this book ... Built up by the drama in At Peace, because Benny said some harsh words to Frankie. And then in The Promise, that drama sloped downwards... I will continue to buy KA's books, because she's awesome, but I just expected more angst between people who held a grudge for 8 years. Like Lanie and Hop? No grudge, but Totally hot after all those years. Shy and tabby, hot too. Deck and Emme? Years later, they' burn hot. Benny and Frankie? Water thrown on them.
  • A must read

Kristen Ashley is one if my favorite romance authors. I suggest reading the Rock Chick series first then the Burg series. You won't be disappointed. Great plots with sexy alpha males that you can't help but fall in love with.
