Description

A swoony, small town firefighter romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!

Opposites attract when a flirty firefighter falls for his uptight doctor.

Jesse

Dr. Lane is all kinds of uptight—oh-so proper and professional. I can’t help but try to rile her up.  I want her, and I can’t even say why.

One night with her, and she’s seared into my soul. All bets are off. But her life is complicated. I don’t do complicated. So I think.

Because, you see, Charlie is everything I ever wanted and more. I just didn’t know it yet. She was mine the minute I laid eyes on her.

Charlie

I don’t believe in fairytales. I sure as h*ll don’t have time for them. I also don’t have time for Jesse Franklin—hotshot firefighter, too handsome for his own good, and cocky to boot.

He’s also rude. Whatever. As I said, I don’t have time.  My life is complicated and messy. There is zero room for anything, most certainly not Jesse who I can’t seem to kick out of my mind.

Then, he goes and does something I never expected. Ever. My life suddenly gets more complicated, and this time it’s all about a fairytale.

Jesse & Charlie’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot firefighters, broody heroes, smart sassy heroines, friend to lovers, forbidden romance, opposites attract, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of swoon, and a deeply protective grumpy hero.

*A full-length standalone romance.

    Predictable and slow
  • Easy read!

Definitely a very easy read. While sometimes repetitive (especially in descriptions), and with a few grammatical/punctuational errors, it didn’t exactly take away from the book. An easy romance that has a good mix between intimacy and day-to-day living between 2 very busy characters!

The only way I would get it back to him was by getting the other ones that you have in your inventory

  • Good, but rushed.

Good, but a little rushed and the misspelling of Jesse’s name more than once took away from the story.
