Description

A swoon-worthy romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!

A hate to love, second chance romance.

Just how wrong is it to want my best friend’s little sister?

And, how do you fix a broken heart? This inquiring mind wants to know. It probably doesn’t matter though because Nora hates me.

If you ever wondered, it is possible to live and work with someone in a small town and not speak to said person for months. That’s how long Nora ignores me after I tell her commitment isn’t for me.

I didn’t know I was already in love with her. I didn’t know I was breaking my own heart by telling myself it was too complicated to fall for my best friend’s sister.

All I want now is to find the way back to us.

*A full-length, standalone romance.

Wonderfully written second chance romance written by an amazing author. All the characters are enjoyable and the chemistry between Nora and Gabrielle was smoking hot. Both the main characters have commitment issues because of their upbringing. Gabrielle broke it off months ago because Nora wanted more than just friends with benefits, but he doesn’t think he is worthy of love. Nora has seen her mother and father and the on and off relationship and doesn’t believe in love. Once Gabrielle realizes he truly loves Nora can he convince her to give him another chance? 4.5 She really should have made him work for it. Nora was told by Gabriel that he didn’t do commitment. A few months later, some forced proximity makes them spend time together. Told in dual POVs I really needed Nora to be strong but she caved right quick and Gabriel definitely needed to do more groveling, which he didn’t do. But I always enjoy a trip to Croix’s Alaska. Recommend. Received from Bad Boy Update.

I was excited to finally get Gabriel and Nora’s story. These two have been going back and forth but then she stopped speaking to him. Nora was landing when her tire blew and she clipped a boulder with the wing of her plane. Gabriel went to get her and she was forced to talk to him after several months of giving him the silent treatment. They both have unresolved issues from their childhood. Gabriel’s mother left and only calls when she needs money. He is struggling with it but doesn’t want to tell her no. Nora’s father was a drunk, left the family and didn’t treat her mother right. She thinks all men will leave eventually so she guards her heart. It was wonderful getting updates on the characters from previous books and the HEA was fantastic. I’m looking forward to the next book by this author. She always draws you into the storyline from beginning to the very end.

Back to Us-JH Croix 4 1/2 Stars A Well Written Sweet Romance! A second chance romance that started when Gabriel realized his fatal mistake after pushing Nora away from their year-long secret relationship. I liked the way the author told their story in a well written way that gently unfolded and revealed their mutual struggles to pursue a real relationship. I loved the story telling style that build up the relationship and issues of trust that are so important in relationships. No crazy drama or maniacal evil villains to hate, just a solid well told romance about a worthy likeable couple. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book via Bad Boy Updates.

4.5 stars This is book 4 in the Dare With Me series and it features Nora and Gabriel.  These two had a secret friends with benefits thing going on for a year.  There was some one-sided feelings going on and she ended it. This story is all about heavy baggage and deep regrets.  Great story line and as always, totally awesome characters! There are lots of everlasting friendships, true loves and family.  I would love to live in the little town of Diamond Creek, Alaska with all these amazing people. I’m looking forward to the next book in this fantastic series!

I’ve enjoyed each book in this series and Nora and Gabriel’s book didn’t disappoint. If you enjoy a book where the main characters have to work to get to their happily ever after, this will be the perfect read for you. Nora and Gabriel were secretly enjoying a friends with benefits arrangement until Nora wanted more. Gabriel put the brakes on and Nora avoids him for months. As time goes on, will they reconnect or will they move on with someone else? As we’re reading this, we learn that neither one has had a great parent role model and this has a lot to do with their relationship. If you enjoy books set in Alaska with strong friendships, you won’t be disappointed with this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

J.X. Croix Back to You Gabriel and Nora will keep you glued to the pages of this story. Gabriel was in a relationship that ended badly. His parents set the tone for his phobia to commitment. When he started seeing Nora who is friends with is sister, he let her know that relationships weren’t for him which led to them going their separate ways knowing that he was developing feelings for her but felt it was for the best. He realized too late that it was a mistake. Nora loves Gabriel but feels she can’t trust him. Do these two have what it takes to have a healthy relationship one that will lead them to a happily ever after? I voluntarily agreed to receive an Arc of this book for an honest review.
