Protectors of Poison by Laura Greenwood is a romantic fantasy novel. I really enjoyed reading her novels. She has a fascinating ability to use history and mythology mixed with fantasy and well written characters. The plot is well developed and I love the world they reside in. Sera is happy just living her life until someone sets her up. Sera and Sed have to go on an adventure to prove her innocence before it’s too late. I love how Sera doesn’t give up and she is headstrong. Laura Greenberg I really do enjoy your novels a lot. They are easy to read and interesting. I can’t wait to read book 2.

Love it! I was not aware there was a goddess of scorpions… so cool! Scorpions and healing don’t necessarily go together but this is cool. Serket is a healer working with animals and feeling like she’s fading. Sed comes out of nowhere and ends up her back to Egypt to help with a dire situation. They visit her temples and the drama begins.. a struggle ends with the culprit secured, and one of her temples damaged severely. Back in Egypt they help save Osiris and start a new life!

All Heart. I love that the goddess of scorpions is also the goddess of medicine and healing. It seems so contradictory and finding her working in a vet’s clinic is poetic. When jackal minor god of kingship and protection, Sed finds her for help just starts the process of sweetness. It’s a feel good story that makes me want to smile. I love how the story circles back to the horoscopes. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sera has moved from her past and is now an animal nurse who gets drawn back into the life she left behind. Sed shows up and off they go on an adventure to figure out what is going on and who the bad guy is. A fun story and take with an Egyptian feel to it.

I really enjoyed this story. I couldn't wait to see what happened next for Sera. She is one of the Forgotten Gods. Her powers had faded since no one had said her name in a long time. She still has her immortality though and she is currently a vet tech using her healing touch only when necessary. She discovers from Sed, another God, that Osiris had been poisoned by one of her scorpions. She must travel back Egypt to save Osiris. On the way there, Sed and her become closer. Will they be able to fix things and figure out what is going on? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
  • Erasing history

Mild spoilers So tragic. Hard enough to be a goddess in a world that no longer has faith in you, but to have someone actively trying to erase you from existence? Sera aka Serket left home long ago when her powers wained and the world moved on now she lives a simple life as a veterinary nurse and heals animals. When a jackal shows up out of nowhere she nurses him back to health only to find he’s not a jackal but Sed a minor god who’s been looking for her. Now they’re on a journey to save a god, protect Sera and find the culprit of both egregious crimes. Very good story. I enjoy the blend of Ancient Egyptian and the modern world. Interesting to see how gods might adapt to the world and how it’s moved on. A bit of something for everyone action, mystery, history, romance. I received a free copy of this book. This review reflects my honest opinion freely given.

It was a quick story to read. It was interesting to read a story that is set in a couple of places. It could be a little confusing at times trying to understand what was going on but it was eventually explained.

I really loved this story. Yes, it is a quick read but it is definitely good. It has some mystery, suspense, drama, and romance. It is extremely well written and the characters are beautifully developed. I loved Sera and Sed together. They have great chemistry and personalities. The story is different with the Egyptian Gods and how they would be in today’s society. It made a very unique story. I would have loved it to be longer just because I would have loved to read more about Sera and Sed. But, the shorter story doesn’t leave you feel like you are missing something. It was definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
