Description

A jousting accident leads to teaming up with an unknown detective...

When Amy and Ambrose arrive at a museum for a well-deserved day off, they find themselves pulled into an investigation they never saw coming, a jousting accident.

With plenty of witnesses, a dangerous sport, and no end of information, it seems like the case could be a simple open-and-shut one, even if it's not supposed to be their own.

But as more comes to light, they realise that what appears to be an accident, might not be as simple as they first thought.

  • Ambrose and Amy Jousting Novella

A novella in the Detective Ambrose and his Consultant Amy murder solving series. The author states where the reading sequence this particular story takes place to prevent confusion. I like how the story was inspired by visiting a museum. The murder by jousting lance is the cause but who has the motive? I like these little story bits into this series of solving murders. Ambrose was a detective and Amy was his witch consultant went to check out a museum but when they got there they couldn’t get in because of the police tape. The forensic doctors they knew and followed them and the detective there was a friend of hers. Was asked for their help so they did. Good book!. Not much of a vacation when you get to your destination and decide to get involved in a possible murder investigation. However I guess I kinda see the appeal. If solving murders is your job/hobby murder by joust isn’t really something you’re gonna see often in modern times. So what follows is a quick peek into a holiday turned to semi working for Amy and Ambrose. Some friends old and new turn up and make this into a fun quirky read. Amy and Ambrose are off on vacation to visit a museum but as always their plans are waylaid by murder. Just another fun mystery for them to solve, this time helping instead of being the main DI. Was cute, funny and entertaining to see who the bad guy was and as always the reason why. And the jousting theme to it all added to the fun.

This story follows Amy and Ambrose as they take a trip out of town and stumble across a police scene. Of course they volunteer to assist with the investigation into a jousting accident that left one of the participants dead. It was interesting to see how much research the writers had done in order to devise a way someone could be killed while doing a jousting demonstration. This is a quick read with some familiar characters if you have been reading the series. But it is fine to read as a stand alone book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
