Description

Griffin Powell has avoided his hometown since he left it in the rearview years ago. But the former Marine understands duty and promises, and that means dragging himself back home as part of his brother's wedding party. Which gets him thinking about a promise he made to a woman, after the best night of his life. When she, too, shows up as part of the wedding, it feels like a sign.

Always a bridesmaid, professor Samantha Ferguson is dreading this bachelorette weekend. She’s the one of the lone single ladies, and the matron of honor is her high school nemesis. Sam figures she can suck it up and deal, until she comes face-to-face with the big, sexy ginger mistake from her past. Can this trip home get any worse?

Turns out it can. Not only are she and Griff paired up for all the bridal party bonding activities, forcing her to relive high school hell, but Sam's best friend goes missing. When no one takes her concerns seriously, she starts a search herself--and ends up with an unwanted bodyguard whose very presence reminds her of a hot Vegas night she’s tried hard to forget.

Wow!! The wait was worth it!! I enjoyed the prequel, “Until We Meet Again”, so much, that I read it again before starting “Come A Little Closer” — even though I was dying to hear the rest of the story!! Although there’s an 8-year gap between the two stories, the warmth and heat (yes, they’re different) of the first tale was the perfect catapult into the second. Absolutely delicious!!! Griff was not only hot, but solid this time around - with no doubt that he could give Sam the love and commitment she deserved. Sam, the injured party from round 1, is swept into his warm, caring passion, when he stands by her in her concern for her missing friend and launches a search with Sam. This is a romantic small town tale with a bit of big city lights tossed in. If you’re new to Nolan, welcome and savor this author!! For those of us who’ve followed Kait’s storytelling all along, this is undoubtedly a new favorite!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wait! Before reading Come A Little Closer…have you read the prequel, Til We Meet Again? If not, read that first as it adds even more deliciousness to this latest Men of Misfit Inn book. There’s no denying that Griffin comes into this story as a complete dumba$$! Eight years ago, he made a big decision, and a big mistake, that changed not only his life, but the life of Samantha, the gal who crushed on him in school. Now, they’re reunited a during a wedding shindig for his foster brother…and it doesn’t feel that good. It doesn’t take long, though, for Griff to redeem himself and for Samantha to start thawing that wall between them. This couple simply made me smile. Beside the obvious chemistry, they have a friendship that touched me. Their story is low angst but high in fun, connection and love. Griff and Samantha are my new favorite couple in a long line of great couples in every Kait Nolan book I’ve read!

I love great second chance romance story! Samantha and Griffin meet again after 8 years for a wedding party weekend with a secret from all their family and friends. The weekend is full of fun and games with emotional turns for a Samantha and Griffin. They then take a road trip in search of a friend which leads them down memory lane. It is easy to relate to the characters and really feel their hopes and dreams. This book is a wonderful heartwarming read and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Loved it! This may contain spoilers if you didn't read the prequel, "Until We Meet Again!" Loved this book! Sam and Griffin's story was one of love lost, love found again! The prequel "Until We Meet Again" truly sets you up to enjoy this book. The idea that at one point Sam and Griffin were married brings a different feeling to this book; stolen glances, tension when with each other - Really Just read the prequel and then this book - I loved every minute of it. Come a little closer First you should really read their prequel book first. I loved it. I binge this book in two sittings. It was a fun escape from my life. I enjoyed that Kait had lots of cameos in this book, especially The Casserole Patrol. This is a story of second chances and what some people will do to prove their love. Griff and Sam have a long history and amazing chemistry. It also is a story of what true friendship can look like.
