Description

As the entire Malory family gathers at Haverston to celebrate the season, a mysterious present arrives anonymously. The gift is an old journal -- a tender and tempestuous account of the love affair between the second Marquis, Christopher Malory, and a dark gypsy beauty named Anastasia, who seeks a love match with a non-gypsy in order to save herself from a prearranged marriage to a brute. Though the dashing English lord Anastasia sets her sight upon burns for the exquisite, exotic miss, Christopher could never consent to wed such a lowborn lady. But miracles have been known to happen in this season of peace and giving and love, as two extraordinary people seperated by cicumstance of birth begin a passionate dance of will and wiles. And in the miraculous blossoming of a glorious romance at a long ago Christmastime, there are wise and well-learned lessons that will enrich the hearts of the Malory descendants -- and, indeed, of everyone who has ever dreamed.

Another example of an excellent story by one of the best storytellers. Would recommend this book and all her other titles.

Without giving the book away, there are a lot of questions that get answered. Like oh that’s why Amy is good with.... that explains four of the Malory’s looks, etc. I truly enjoyed this book.
  • Short and Sweet!

Although The Present might have been short, with not as much romance in it as the others, it is still a Malory novel, meaning it is still awesome just because the Malory family is in it! And it had two of the best things: the Malorys and Christmas. I think it was put together in a really great way.

I have enjoyed reading Joanne Lindsey's books for a long time now. Her paper back books. I expected to get the same quality of reading from IBooks. I expected the whole story , not a condensed Version. This is not the first time I have read a story line that has been condensed. Looks like I'm going to be looking for a new app. I like reading on my IPad.

I enjoyed the rich history of the Malory family. I read most of the books years ago and am in the middle of re-reading them...and enjoying every one.
