Description

The exquisite niece of Lord Edward and Lady Charlotte Malory, Regina Ashton is outraged over her abduction by the arrogant, devilishly handsome Nicholas Eden—and is determined to make the rogue pay . . . with his heart.

A golden-haired seducer, Nicholas has been hardened by a painful secret in his past. And now that he has besmirched Reggie's good name, the hot-tempered lady has vowed to wed him. Her fiery beauty stirs Nicholas as no woman ever has—and the rake arouses Reggie's passion to an unendurable level. Such uncontrolled desires can lead only to dangerous misunderstandings . . . and, perhaps, to a love that can live only once in a lifetime.

Wow so many characters with so many possible future story. Love the way being a bastard like Nicholas is and Regina’s honest promiscuity and the concept of a large family with such love was depicted in first book of the series. Love it!

I like this book. Author makes the characters idiots which is what we are in most cases when it comes to love.

I absolutely love the Malory/Anderson series. I started with Captive of my Desire and had to learn of everyone’s back story. Johanna Lindsey never ceases to amaze me.

Interesting characters(mostly malory’s family). Didn’t like nicks character most of the time. Interesting storyline. Lots of twists and turns. Not too many romance scenes but just enough. I like a few of her other books a lot better but this one isn’t bad.
  • Good book, but hard to like hero

I enjoyed this book, but the hero...what a beast, and not in a beauty-and-the-beast sort of way. True, he did have a less than loving childhood, but as an adult he is spoiled, ill-tempered and selfish. Both hero and heroine struggled with their pride throughout, which is also a bit frustrating. While many characters (us humans, too!) are prideful, I felt like these two were too much so. In the end, love conquers all but the journey to get there was, at times, too fraught with tension, pride and selfishness. Had I been treated the way the heroine was in this story, I'm not sure I could continue to love my husband. I do look forward to reading the other books in the series. The Mallory family is chock-full of characters and personality!

After devouring the story for the 5th time, thought it was only fitting to give it praise. Thoroughly enjoyed this one but then I do love all the Malory love stories, even Jason & Molly! The latest installment on Judith's & Nathan's love story was delish and left me wanting more of the Malory Saga! Was wondering about Jacqueline, Thomas, & Travis, when will there stories be told? Truly, truly this story's beginning had me captured and held my undivided attention. Favorite part was Miriam's departure...her hatred of an innocent child would move anyone to violence! Glad Nick & Reggie did not let her tear them apart! Hats off to Ms Lindsey on another master piece!

The heroine and her family were terrific. The story was great. But the hero was a jerk. If this was the first book I had read by this author, I would not pick up another one. Sorry!

I know that this is the first in the Malory series, but I read this last. I have to admit I was extremely excited when the wild Captain Hawke, James Malory, was introduced. He was one of my favorite characters, and he still played a great role in this book too. I loved the storyline with Regina and Nick. She drove him crazy, especially when he found out she had his son and he didnt believe it at first. I loved this book, I definitely recommend it!
