I never thought I would like a Stephen King novel, because I do not enjoy horror stories or spook stories but this one was neither. It was more a story of survival, the human soul, the battle between the forces of good and evil, etc. I might not read another Stephen King, but I enjoyed this one.

Stephen King at his finest. This book is epic! The end of our world. Good vs. Evil The good moving toward a savior. This book will always be my favorite tome as only Stephen King could write it.

This story of a virus wiping out most of humanity struck me as truth and possibility years ago when I first read it. And then came COVID and the most hideous so-called leader the US has ever known. So the battle between good and evil continues. Don’t let the number of pages keep you from reading this book. It is amazing writing and a joy to read.

This book burns you out. It’s long and sensual and I’m a fan of his work. I’m happy I read it but golly it’s just so so long. Some parts could be way shorter and I know it’s the longer version but wow. I recommend reading the shorter version because this one fries your brain.

Re-reading in a post-Covid world gives even greater pause. Besides, it still is a remarkable page-turner epic!

Amazing, exhaustive character development makes one build a relationship with these people over the long time it takes to read this book. Reading this book is a lived experience that is very unique and probably life-changing in subtle ways.

Read this a while ago but such a great book and well worth a read.

It took me awhile to get into this book. But once I did, it was hard to put down! Great read. Well thought out characters. I will probably read this one again in a few years.
